Daily Content Plan – Posting 7 Days a Week to Increase Web Traffic

Last updated on September 5th, 2012 by Gabriel Livan

You have no doubt heard that the trick to increasing web traffic to your site is posting new content. Some people go as far as to post every day…7 days a week. If you have decided that this is a move that you would like to make, then here are some strategies and ideas that you could use to implement such an idea. It might not be easy at first, but you will quickly find your rhythm and will soon find that it does not even take a lot of time to accomplish!

Plus, the benefits will be apparent… posting enough new content to cover all 7 days of the week will result in a substantial increase in traffic… but you have to keep it consistent and reliable!

The Content

First things first… let’s start with the content. You need to make sure that you post top notch, high quality content that your readers will find interesting and worthwhile. If your content is poorly written or written by someone who does not even speak English, then you are going to waste your money and your time by missing the point of even posting it… so that other people will enjoy reading it! Do you enjoy reading poorly written articles or blog posts? If you don’t like it, then why would your readers like it?

This can be a tough standard to set when you are trying to post every day, but you might as well start off doing it right. It will save you a lot of time and wasted effort down the road!

You also need to think about keywords. Don’t load your content with so many keywords that it is hard to read or incredibly obvious that you are using them… try to pick out one or two keywords or keyword phrases per article/blog post. Make them different for different posts so that you will have a better chance of bringing in web traffic. If you have 100 different articles on your site, all embedded with unique keywords that are different and focused towards your target audience, then you are going to have a much better chance of bringing in visitors than if every single article had the same keywords in it.

A Daily Plan

Here is a daily plan that you can follow for posting content on your website. This plan includes variety, consistency, and is intended to make the work as easy as possible… but you HAVE to do it! Have your content planned out 90 days ahead of schedule. Have the actual topics, subjects, and word counts lined out a month in advance. Then, make sure to have the content ready to publish a week in advance so that you are never scrambling at the last minute. Of course, this plan is for a website owner who already has a running website capable of sustaining this kind of information… if not, then look into how to create a website and do what you need to do to get yourself to this point.

  • Monday: Write a blog post. This could be a lifestyle blog post that your target audience would find interesting… the kind of article that they would read on their coffee break or during study-hour at school… something interesting, uplifting, or entertaining to get them through the day.
  • Tuesday: Hire an article writer to write content for you on Tuesdays and Thursdays. You can provide the topics, or you can leave this to the writer if you feel that you can trust him/her enough to brainstorm for you. This will provide some different insight and bring some life to your article that will help to compliment your own posts.
  • Wednesday: Make Wednesday guest-blogger day. Try to contact other bloggers who are popular and deal with the same topic as you… and invite them to write posts for your blog. Of course, offer to let them link back to their blog so that they can attract visitors. This way, you get some free, relevant content and they get some free exposure! If possible, put together a rotation of guest bloggers so that you have new content coming from different writers each week.
  • Thursday: Again, hire a writer to write something relevant to your target audience.
  • Friday: On Friday, you could write a product review that your readers would find interesting. After all, it is payday…so maybe you will inspire your readers to spend some money, or prevent them from wasting it by writing an honest review of a product that you have tried.
  • Saturday: On Saturday, you can publish a how-to article that your target audience would find useful or helpful. You can even embed a video from Youtube if you think that it would help or entertain your readers.
  • Sunday: Use Sunday to answer reader-posted or emailed questions. If you don’t have any questions to answer, then look for some common questions related to your topic to answer.

Remember to answer any comments you get on any posts, and remember to encourage comments from your readers every time you post something!
